Statue of Liberty Outta Jelly Belly’s!

My dream is to one day visit New York.  My trip is already planned out.  First, I MUST see a show on Broadway, then have some pizza, visit a cafe and to finish off the evening, take a stroll in Central Park.  Somehow, someway, I just need to get there.  Another site that I would definitely want to visit is the Statue of Liberty.  This is the probably the most well known tourist attraction in New York.  A little history about the Statue of Liberty…Located on Liberty Island, this statue was designed by Frédéric Bartholdi, a French sculptor and was dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue was a gift to the United States from the people of France.  For those who’ve always wondered, the Statue of Liberty is a female figure that is robed representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom.  In her right hand, she holds a torch and in the left hand, holds a tablet called the tabula ansata which is a tablet evoking the law.  On this particular tablet is an inscription of July 4, 1776, the date of the American Declaration of Independence.  Lastly at her feet lies a broken chain which has become an symbol of freedom and for the United States.

Though I have never seen the real Statue of Liberty, I have seen a smaller scale Statue of Liberty on the Las Vegas Strip many times.  If you are ever in Vegas, make sure you stop by the New York New York Hotel and Casino.  Here you will see a replica of the Statue of Liberty as well the Brooklyn Bridge and the many buildings, which in this case are hotel rooms, one would see as the skyline of New York.  This hotel is amazing.  Along with getting to see a replica of Lady Liberty herself, you can even go on a thrilling roller coaster ride that will take you around the entire hotel and casino.  Just be aware, this ride is not for the faint of heart.

When you walk into the hotel from the bridge connected to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, this is the first thing you will see.

How awesome is this!  This Statue of Liberty is made purely out of those yummy jelly beans called Jelly Belly’s.  Intricately made and just an awesome sight to see, this will definitely draw your attention.  I think that may be the marketing behind THIS Statue of Liberty.  Behind the statue is a huge selection of candy and let me tell you, people stop!  It’s a perfect place for someone craving something sweet!
