I love tempura. I always have and growing up in a Japanese household, both my parents it for us at home. I wouldn’t say it was always but definitely enough that we got our tempura fix was satisfied. There are so many different kinds of tempura. I would have to say my favorites are the sweet yam, green beans, mushroom and of course, shrimp. But now that I don’t live with my parents, having tempura happens only when I go to a Japanese restaurant. On rare occasions when we have dinner at my parents, they do decide to make it which is a treat. But then recently, I found these…

Trader Joe’s 99 Cent Greeting Cards Review
I know this blog is food focused but I couldn’t’ resist sharing the greeting card selection at Trader Joe’s. In a day in age where email is the preferred communication method, greeting cards definitely don’t get much credit anymore. I personally love greeting cards. I enjoy writing them as well as receiving them. I do ponder what to do with the cards after reading them. Do I keep it (I tend to be a pack rat though I’m getting way better) or is it something ok to toss? Anyway, for those who still enjoy the old school greeting card communication method, have you checked out the prices cards? Wow! It…

Trader Joe’s Beans So Green Review
Vegetables…though super good for you, I do have to admit, I don’t incorporate it in my daily foods enough and because of that, I resort to taking multi-vitamins. But really, the nutrition in veggies are so much more better than multi-vitamins. What usually happens in my household is that I purchase fresh veggies with the hopes of eating it until it’s gone but when it comes down to it, it’s really the only the first day that I have the motivation. The next day, the veggie will just sit then a couple of days will pass but by then, I get paranoid that it probably has spoiled and end of…

Trader Joe’s Trader Ming’s Mandarin Orange Chicken Review
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say Panda Express? Ok, you may say pandas (which I love by the way) but some may say Orange Chicken. It is amazing how the majority of the people who order at Panda Express choose their Orange Flavored Chicken as one of their items. Started in 2004, Panda Express has now 1,500 stores in 42 different States including Puerto Rico. I think the reason visit them is because you can order your food fast and it’s fresh. I do know some people who do not like Panda Express due to it being a more Americanized Chinese eatery but …

Trader Joe’s Beef Recipe Jerky Strips Review
As mentioned previously, now with a dog, I do have to admit, I am always on the lookout for unique and different food items for Muffin. We do not feed her any “people” food (though I do catch myself giving her a itty bitty piece sometimes…shhhh!) so the more variety I can get for snacks, the better. I decided to try Trader Joe’s Beef Recipe Jerky Strips and Muffin loves them. They smell very much like beef jerky and what’s convenient is that it comes in stripes that can easily be broken into smaller pieces. It’s a great treat when training dogs. We actually have to add some of these…

Trader Joe’s Trek Nuts Mix Review
Vlog Challenge: Day 12 As mentioned in my other post, I love nuts. Did you know that nuts are super healthy for you. It is said that they can reduce stress, keep your heart healthy, may prevent cancers such as lung cancer and prostate cancer, help with lowering cholesterol, keeping your weight down just to name a few (please do research and ask your doctor for advice before going crazy on eating nuts due to this post). If something so small is packed with so much benefit, shouldn’t we always keep some on hand? While visiting Trader Joe’s one day, I came across these Trader Joe’s Trek Mix. It’s so…
